For this particular year it shows that Q magazine was the most popular magazine, I think this is because Q includes a wide range of genres of music so there is something for everyone, widening the target audience. Mojo was ranked the second most popular and focuses mainly on classic rock, this is surprising because I wouldn't have thought many people would listen to classic rock but when visiting the Mojo website bands such as Led Zeppelin and the Beatles were featured in their articles and as these bands are very famous this explains why the magazine is so popular.

Treatment

The magazine: Unplugged

Target audience: Unplugged will be aimed at teenagers between the age of 15-18 therefore they will still be in full time education and will be receiving money off their parents or carers to buy the magazine, although some will have part time jobs. My magazine will be aimed at middle-class people as they would be able to afford to go to concerts and festivals. Unplugged is not gender specific and will have music that both male and female teenagers will listen to and enjoy, also they will probably be either in a band or play instruments or love to listen to music and will be regular concert and festival goers this is why I will include information about upcoming festivals and concerts and reviews.

Form and style: My magazine is an A4 colour magazine but it will also include black and white images depending on the article. Things that I will include in my magazine are reviews, upcoming festivals and concerts, articles on famous bands, Upcoming festivals and bands, CD reviews etc. My colour scheme on the front cover will be green and black colour scheme for the masthead. On the front cover I will have some famous bands but will also feature upcoming bands that people may not have heard of, it will include coverlines including articles about upcoming bands, reviews and various other music related article. Also it will have competitions, special offers and prizes. Unplugged will be sold at £3 which is am average if not slightly less expensive price for a magazine which will make it look professional but slightly more affordable.

Themes and Typical features: Unplugged will include articles such as Festival and concert reviews, music news about the latest bands and scandals, News about upcoming festivals, concerts and bands, interviews with famous bands. The language and topics involved will revolve around music as most readers will either be in bands or take an interest in music and will want to be kept up to date with all the latest music news.

Potential advertisers: The main types of advertisers in Unplugged will be branches such as HMV and the latest CDs or downloads released. Also things that the readers will find interesting or would appeal to them such as sites where you can buy tickets and band t-shirts will be included.

Editorial Team: The editorial team for Unplugged will be made up of professional and experienced writers but also writers that have an interest in music. There will also be interviewers to interview the artists that are featuring in articles.
